Portman established manufacturing operations in China in 1991. With
100,000 ft2 of state-of-the-art manufacturing and assembly technology
(including vertical capabilities in tooling, injection molding,
die -casting, and SMT lines), the China facility has become the
heart of the Portman Group along with our four additional facilities
and is delivering superior products to over 70 countries worldwide!
In addition to its offices throughout China, Portman established
its American Regional Headquarters in the Eastern United States
to deliver unparalleled service in the markets where it sells. The
decision to enter the international marketplace has proven to be
very successful.
Along with expanding its customer service network, Portman
is committed to the continual improvement of its quality management
system to ensure only the highest quality products reach our customers.
With ISO9001:2000 already in place, Portman achieved third-party
certification for QS9000 in 2003, adding quality management disciplines
to meet the requirements of some of the world's largest companies.
Portman is proud to provide products approved to the standards of
CE, E-mark, Thatcham, EMC, FCC, and UL. To safeguard the safety
of our product users and the reliability of our entire product line,
every step of the manufacturing process is built with IQC, IPQC,
FQC, and AQL sampling in mind. Some products are SPL approved as
well. All PCBs are 100% inspected and tested by ICT testers. Naturally,
all employees are trained to productively problem-solve to meet
Portman's objective of ZERO DEFECTS.
